The third graders have been hard at work! The first week was a blast painting abstract designs with texture (forks and scrapers, etc.) to create their warm and cool colored paper. The next two weeks were spent learning about the different cultures around the world that practice weaving with a loom such as Ghana, Africa and Peru, South America. We imagined our paper was the loom, with the strands of fabric being weaved through. "Over, Under, Over, Under..." was said quite a few times to remember which pattern to weave. They did a fantastic job!
